Job summary

Sheridan Maine London is recruiting for an experienced Client Manager to join a North London accountancy practice. You will manage a varied portfolio of clients, overseeing accounts and tax work while delivering proactive advisory support.

You will review junior work, liaise with partners, and identify opportunities to expand services, maintaining strong client relationships and a high standard of service in a busy, supportive team.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification, or be qualified by experience.
• Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation.
• Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Good working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• A proactive, commercially aware approach with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and management accounts.
• Overseeing corporation tax and personal tax returns.
• Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing practical accounting and financial advice.
• Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.
• Managing deadlines and ensuring assignments are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Reviewing work prepared by junior colleagues and providing guidance where required.
• Liaising with Partners and senior colleagues on client matters and technical queries.
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional services and support clients with their business needs.
