Are you a motivated, detail-orientated Assistant Accountant, looking to grow your career in accounting while contributing to the success of respected, award-winning dealerships? We are now looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to be based at our Honda site in Wakefield, with occasional travel to our site in Doncaster.

We offer full-time hours with a competitive salary dependent on experience.

The Role – what will I be doing?

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the accounting department by handling various key responsibilities, including assisting in accounts production, balance sheet reconciliation and reporting. You will report to the Group Accounts Manager and work closely with our Accounts teams across the Group.

You’ll Do This By

• Assist with the production of the Monthly Management Accounts
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations including Accruals and Prepayments
• Reconciling Manufacturer Bonuses
• Monitoring accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of payments from customers
• Helping manage customer and vendor queries regarding account balances, payment terms and invoices
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for auditing purposes
• Supporting inventory audits and ensuring proper accounting of inventory adjustments
• Providing audit support
• Helping ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Gathering financial data and performing analysis to support monthly and quarterly reporting

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organisational skills
• Industry experience essential
• Confidence using Excel and other Microsoft Packages
