Job summary

Eakin Healthcare Group is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the Finance Manager in preparing accounts for the group and its R&D arm. The role covers AP/AR, accruals, journals, VAT/statistical returns, and legal entity reporting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be diligent, detail-oriented and able to meet tight deadlines, with experience in finance systems and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified accountant or qualified by experience (QBE).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong IT and Microsoft Excel skills.
• Finance systems experience.
• Ability to work diligently and efficiently within required timescales.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage the AP/AR functions.
• Accrual accounting and journal management.
• Prepare VAT and Intrastat returns and submit on a timely basis.
• Complete all statistical returns.
• Prepare monthly Balance sheet reconciliations for the above-mentioned companies.
• Prepare legal entity trial balances for the above companies.
• Prepare audit files for the external auditors and liaising with the auditors for the annual audit.
• Prepare and manage monthly management recharges across relevant Group companies, ensuring costs are appropriately allocated and supported.
• Manage the accounting and monitoring of project-related expenditure, ensuring costs are appropriately recorded, tracked and reconciled.
• Assist with intercompany accounting and reconciliations, ensuring balances are agreed and differences are resolved on a timely basis.
