Job summary

Mpeople is recruiting for an Assistant Accountant in Batley. This permanent role supports monthly management accounts, budgeting, and financial planning within a forward-thinking prospect company.

You will reconcile invoices, manage ledgers, and assist in audits while collaborating across departments. The ideal candidate has accounting experience, AAT or equivalent qualification, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar role.
• Ideally AAT or equivalent qualification.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts preparation and reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Reconcile invoices, expenses and financial data for accuracy.
• Credit control, Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger tasks.
• Maintain and update financial records in line with policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to verify financial information.
• Assist in preparing reports for senior management and external parties.
• Participate in audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
