Job summary

Mpeople Recruitment North West Batley is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join a permanent team and support the Accountant with day-to-day financial operations, reconciliations and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as an Assistant Accountant, ideally AAT or equivalent, and be proficient in Excel and accounting software. Salary £33K- £35K depending on experience.

Join our client's dynamic team in Batley as a Permanent Assistant Accountant, where you'll play a vital role in supporting financial operations within a forward-thinking Prospect company. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a small acvounts team.

Responsibilities

• To support the Accountant in day-to-day accounting management and control, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist with monthly managementaccounts preparation and reporting
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Reconcile invoices, expenses, and financial data to ensure accuracy
• Credit control
• Sales Ledger
• Purchase ledger
• Maintain and update financial records in line with company policies
• Collaborate with other departments to gather and verify financial information
• Assist in the preparation of reports for senior management and external parties
• Participate in audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations
• Cash and banking
• Assist with Vat return
• Admin tasks as required

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as an AssistantAccountant or similar role
• Ideally AAT or equivalent qualification
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good communication skills, able to work effectively within a team
• Proficient in key software such as Excel and accounting systems
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
