Job summary

RG Consultancy are partnering with a Liverpool-based logistics company to recruit a senior Accounts Assistant. The role is suited to a QBE or AAT part-qualified candidate looking to progress in accounts within a supportive team.

You will assist with monthly management accounts, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and VAT returns, while supporting budgets and broader financial administration. A competitive salary and progression opportunities are on offer.

Qualifications

• QBE or AAT qualified or part-qualified candidates preferred.
• Experience in preparing monthly management accounts and month-end close.
• Good understanding of VAT returns and statutory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts and month-end procedures.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and post journals as needed.
• Assist with purchase and sales ledger activities.
• Support budgets, forecasts and financial reporting.
• Support wider finance team with ad hoc duties and process improvements.

Key skills:

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Supporting month-end procedures, including accruals, prepayments and journal postings.
• Preparing balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring transactions are recorded correctly.
• Assisting with purchase ledger and sales ledger activities.
• Supporting the preparation of budgets, forecasts and financial reports.
• Assisting with VAT returns and other statutory reporting requirements.
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties and projects.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and maintain efficient financial procedures.
