Job summary

Corestone Talent is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join its international finance team, focusing on intercompany transactions, balance sheet reconciliations and audit support within a globally active organisation.

The role offers hybrid working and exposure to month-end close, audits and international reporting. The ideal candidate has strong reconciliation skills and knowledge of SAP or BlackLine.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
• Strong reconciliation skills, including intercompany accounting.

• Experience supporting audits and preparing schedules.

Responsibilities

• Managing and reconciling intercompany balances and transactions across international entities.
• Investigating and resolving intercompany discrepancies with finance colleagues.
• Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving items.
• Analysing financial data and providing commentary on variances.
• Supporting month-end close with journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Supporting internal and external audits with schedules and documentation.
• Liaising with auditors to resolve findings and maintain audit readiness.
• Ensuring internal controls and accounting policies are followed.
• Improving reconciliation processes and reporting accuracy.
• Assisting with fixed asset accounting and statutory reporting.

Global Organisation Hybrid Working (3 Days Office / 2 Days Home)

Are you an analytical and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys getting into the numbers, investigating discrepancies and making sure everything balances?

We're recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team of a highly successful, well-established global organisation operating across multiple international markets.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to international accounting, with a particular focus on intercompany transactions, balance sheet reconciliations, financial analysis and audit support, within a collaborative and supportive finance team.

The Role

Working within a busy international finance function, you'll play an important role in ensuring the accuracy of financial information, investigating variances, supporting month-end reporting and ensuring audit readiness.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and reconciling intercompany balances and transactions across international entities.
• Investigating and resolving intercompany discrepancies, working closely with finance colleagues across the business.
• Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving outstanding items.
• Analysing financial data, investigating variances and providing meaningful commentary.
• Supporting month-end close, including preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Supporting internal and external audits, preparing supporting schedules, reconciliations and documentation.
• Responding to audit queries, investigating findings and liaising with auditors to ensure timely resolution.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and audit requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to improve reconciliation processes, reporting accuracy, audit readiness and financial controls.
• Assisting with fixed asset accounting, financial reporting and statutory requirements.
• Working collaboratively with international finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

About You

We're looking for someone who is naturally analytical, enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in producing accurate financial information.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
• Strong reconciliation skills, ideally including intercompany accounting.
• A good understanding of month-end processes and balance sheet accounting.
• Experience supporting internal or external audits, including preparing schedules and responding to audit queries.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
• Experience using SAP, BlackLine or similar systems would be advantageous.
• AAT qualification or studying towards ACCA/CIMA/ACA would be welcomed.
• A proactive, organised approach and excellent attention to detail.
