Job summary

Keeler Recruitment is working with a well-established organisation in Fakenham to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team. You will support day-to-day finance operations and help ensure accounts are accurate and up to date.

The ideal candidate will have an AAT Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) and a hands-on, reliable attitude. Proficiency in Excel and finance systems, plus a desire to learn, are essential.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 3 qualified, or qualified by relevant experience.
• Experienced within an accounts or finance environment.
• Hardworking, reliable and organised.
• Comfortable working to deadlines and managing their own workload.
• A good communicator who works well as part of a team.
• Keen to learn, develop and broaden their accounting experience.
• Confident using Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
• Proactive and willing to get involved across the wider finance function.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Finance Manager with the day-to-day running of the finance function.
• Supporting with month-end processes and management accounts.
• Preparing and posting journals.
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Supporting with purchase and sales ledger processes.
• Processing invoices and payments; Investigating and resolving financial discrepancies.
• Assisting with cashflow and other financial reporting.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Providing general support to the wider team as required.
• Working closely with the Finance Manager on ad-hoc finance projects and tasks.
