Job summary

Norgine is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join its Finance team. This role contributes to timely month-end close, accurate journals, and efficient accounting processes in a fast-paced international environment.

You will work with SAP, BlackLine and MS Office, supporting VAT and statutory reporting, and assisting audits while developing your career within a collaborative, inclusive culture at Norgine.

Qualifications

• Experience with month-end processes and journal postings.
• Proficiency in reconciliations and problem solving.
• Knowledge of tax reporting and audit support is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Complete month-end close activities accurately and on time, escalating issues where appropriate
• Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, cash and accounting adjustments
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding discrepancies
• Maintain fixed asset registers, ensuring accurate accounting for additions, disposals and depreciation
• Support tax and statutory reporting requirements, including VAT, corporate tax and other local filings
• Provide timely support during internal and external audits
• Prepare regulatory and statistical submissions
• Assist Accounting Managers with day-to-day accounting activities and financial reporting
• Analyse financial data and prepare standard reports to support business decision-making
• Contribute to process improvements and the enhancement of accounting controls and reconciliation processes
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, controls, regulations and best practice

Requirements

• AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA -or- previous experience in an Accounting, Finance or similar field.
• Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes, journals, accruals, reconciliations and strong problem-solving skills
• Strong understanding of fixed assets accounting, tax reporting and audit support.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, while communicating clearly and effectively with all team members
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and using SAP, BlackLine or similar systems
• Knowledge of internal controls and compliance requirements
