Job summary

Norgine is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. You will contribute to month-end close, prepare journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and support fixed asset accounting in a fast-paced, international environment.

You will collaborate across teams, ensure compliance with financial controls, and assist with audits and regulatory reporting. AAT or studying ACCA/CIMA/ACA is preferred, with strong Excel and SAP/BlackLine experience.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes, journals, accruals, reconciliations and strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of fixed assets accounting, tax reporting and audit support.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, while communicating clearly and effectively with all team members.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and using SAP, BlackLine or similar systems.
• Knowledge of internal controls and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Complete month-end close activities accurately and on time, escalating issues where appropriate.
• Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, cash and accounting adjustments.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding discrepancies.
• Maintain fixed asset registers, ensuring accurate accounting for additions, disposals and depreciation.
• Support tax and statutory reporting requirements, including VAT, corporate tax and other local filings.
• Provide timely support during internal and external audits.
• Prepare regulatory and statistical submissions.
• Assist Accounting Managers with day-to-day accounting activities and financial reporting.
• Analyse financial data and prepare standard reports to support business decision-making.
• Contribute to process improvements and the enhancement of accounting controls and reconciliation processes.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, controls, regulations and best practice.

• AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA -or- previous experience in an Accounting, Finance or similar field.
