Chase & Holland Recruitment Ltd is supporting an established business in Grimsby within the renewable energy and asset management sector to recruit an ambitious Assistant Accountant. You will work under the Head of Finance across management reporting, forecasting, reconciliations and audit support, with responsibilities spanning monthly management accounts, journals, bank reconciliations and VAT.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with experience across accounting software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Preparing journals, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Managing bank reconciliations, cash forecasting and weekly supplier payment runs.
• Processing sales invoices, credit control activities and purchase ledger transactions.
• Supporting VAT returns and statutory financial reporting.
• Maintaining fixed asset registers.
• Assisting with year-end audit and statutory accounts preparation.
• Supporting financial modelling and ad hoc finance projects.

Assistant Accountant - Grimsby - circa £30,000

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial management of multiple operating entities, the variety of the role will see you involved in everything from management reporting and forecasting through to reconciliations, payments and audit support.
