Search Consultancy is recruiting an Assistant Accountant in Edinburgh with hybrid working. You will move beyond transactional finance toward management accounting, financial control and business reporting.

You will develop technical accounting skills while contributing to process improvements and robust reporting across the organisation. This is an ideal step for career development within a supportive finance team.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a finance or accounting environment.
• Understanding of reconciliations, journals and month-end processes.
• Strong Excel skills and data handling capabilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

• Exposure to Power BI, Power Query or reporting tools would be advantageous.
• Desire to build a career in accounting and finance.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end reporting activities including journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• Carry out balance sheet, ledger and suspense account reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support financial reporting and control processes across the finance function.
• Process supplier invoices, employee expenses and payment runs.
• Handle queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Assist with finance projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain supplier records and data accuracy.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and automation.

• Managing finance-related queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Supporting finance projects and process improvement initiatives
• Maintaining supplier records and ensuring accurate financial data
• Helping identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and automation
