Job summary

Agility in Carlisle is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team and support day-to-day accounting activities. The role offers study support toward professional qualifications and real hands-on exposure across management accounts, journals, reconciliations and forecasting.

You will work with a collaborative team, develop technical skills, and benefit from mentoring as you progress toward more senior finance positions, starting ASAP on a full-time basis.

Qualifications

• Part-Qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA, or actively studying towards a professional qualification.
• Ambitious finance professional seeking to develop a career in accounting.
• Experience in Assistant Accountant, Accounts Assistant or similar role.
• Comfortable with Excel and financial systems.
• Highly organised with attention to detail.
• Keen to learn, take on responsibilities and develop professionally.
• Strong communicator and team player.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting the month-end and year-end processes
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
• Supporting cash flow reporting
• Investigating variances and providing financial analysis
• Assisting with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
• Working closely with colleagues across the wider business
• Supporting continuous improvement projects and development of finance processes

Are you an ambitious Part-Qualified Accountant looking for the next step in your finance career?

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join a growing and supportive finance team.

Working closely with experienced finance professionals, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function while continuing to develop your knowledge and experience.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic role for someone who is AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA, with a genuine desire to progress into a Management Accountant or more senior finance position in the future.
