Job summary

Silcom Recruitment Limited is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join its client in Banbury. You will support financial reporting and day-to-day accounting operations, helping you develop toward a Regional Accountant role.

The role suits someone currently in an Assistant Accountant position or an experienced Accounts Assistant ready to progress. The package includes a basic salary of £32,000, Monday to Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, and study support to aid professional development.

Qualifications

• Oversee the processing of data across the sales, purchase and nominal ledgers, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
• Maintain balance sheet control, completing regular reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Support the production of month-end management accounts, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare and submit dealership composites, ensuring accuracy and consistency with the management accounts.
• Complete bank and other key account reconciliations, resolving outstanding items promptly.
• Undertake working capital reviews, monitoring debtors, creditors and stock balances to identify areas requiring attention.

The Role:

Silcom Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join an established client of ours, located in Banbury. Providing the opportunity to progress into a Regional Accountant role in the future.

This position would suit a current Assistant Accountant looking to develop their career, or a competent and experienced Accounts Assistant ready to take the next step. You will support the financial reporting and day-to-day accounting operations of the business, building the skills and experience needed to take on greater responsibility across multiple sites.
