Role: Asset & Short Term Rental Manager

Location: Brackmills, Northampton

We offer a wide range of forklift trucks, from powered pallet trucks to wire-guided systems, as well as industrial equipment such as sweepers, mobile plants, and lorry loader cranes.

About the role

The Asset & Short Term Rental (STR) Manager is responsible for maintaining a fluid, well-balanced, and profitable rental fleet. Short-term rental is a key revenue stream and a route to market for potential asset sales. Your role is crucial in ensuring optimal rental fleet utilization.

Key responsibilities

1. Maximize revenue contribution from all Trade Sales orders.
2. Grow short-term rental revenue.
3. Manage profitability through effective workshop controls on costs.
4. Oversee admin and staff in two short-term rental workshops.
5. Achieve new business levels aligned with the annual business plan.
6. Identify end-of-term units suitable for refurbishment to support the growth of the refurbishment business.
7. Optimize fleet efficiency by identifying unprofitable units and taking corrective actions.
8. Analyze and value equipment returning from hire to determine appropriate next steps (Trade, STR, Refurbishment).
9. Support the Sales Department with equipment for new sales.
10. Manage inventories of all assets.
11. Coordinate with suppliers to obtain the best prices for assets.
