Senior Director, Head of UK and European Real Estate Investor & Funds practice at Macdonald & Company

Our client is a dynamic, UK-focused property investment and fund management firm, seeking an ambitious Asset Manager to join the group's London team. They specialise in delivering strong income and capital growth across a diversified portfolio spanning logistics, office, and retail sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the day-to-day asset management of a varied UK commercial property portfolio.
  2. Develop and execute tailored business plans for each asset, identifying and delivering value-enhancing initiatives.
  3. Implement rent review and lease renewal strategies, appointing and overseeing external advisors as necessary.
  4. Liaise with legal counsel on all property-related matters.
  5. Support the acquisition process by sourcing and analysing new investment opportunities.
  6. Review existing assets, providing hold/sell recommendations to inform strategic decisions.
  7. Assist in managing the purchase and sale processes for property transactions.
  8. Prepare and present quarterly Board reports.
  9. Work closely with Managing Agents and Finance teams to ensure effective rent collection and service charge management.
  10. Contribute to the delivery of the company’s five-year strategic plan.
  11. Oversee service charge budgets, ESG compliance, and health and safety administration.
  12. Identify and manage refurbishment, energy efficiency, and capital expenditure projects.
  13. Maximise rental income and minimise vacancy by actively managing lease events and working closely with letting agents.
  14. Build strong relationships with tenants and local stakeholders to uncover opportunities and mitigate risks.
  15. Background: 2–3 years’ post-qualification experience from private practice and up to 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience in a client-side asset management role.
  16. Proven track record of executing asset management initiatives and creating value.
  17. Highly proactive, hands-on approach with a "can-do" attitude.
  18. Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in Argus Enterprise and Excel.
  19. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead meetings and negotiate effectively.
  20. Collaborative team player, capable of working independently and flexibly within a professional environment.
  21. Diligent, detail-oriented, and hardworking.
