Job summary

Network Rail is seeking an Asset Engineer (Structures) for Examinations to join the Eastern Region. You will review structural examinations, prioritise management actions, and work with internal and external teams to improve examination delivery and data quality.

The role is based at One Stratford Place, London, with responsibilities across Anglia and East Midlands routes. Candidates should have a strong civil/structural background, professional registration progress, and excellent communication

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Substantial experience in structures or civil engineering.
• Knowledge of Structures Assessment.
• Understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques.
• Working towards membership of a relevant professional institution.
• Excellent communication skills and highly organised.

Responsibilities

• Schedule examinations, inspections, monitoring and assessment of structures assets and the evaluation of the reports in accordance with policy and standards.
• Specify and prioritise actions to address defects, comments and other issues raised in the reports, in accordance with standards.
• Undertake engineering analysis and risk assessments of assets or asset components to support the asset management process.
• Monitor and evaluate asset condition and capability trend data to inform examination and renewal plans.
• Maintain structures asset data and information within company systems.
• Provide engineering support and participate in investigations of incidents relating to structures.
