Job summary

Cadent Gas Ltd in Norwich is seeking a meticulous on-site data coordinator to manage data collection for gas mains/assets, ensuring accuracy in documentation and drawings. You will work with operational staff to capture field information and update Cadent systems.

The role requires experience with data collection tools (Data Collector, GPS software) and the ability to meet tight deadlines while working independently. A strong emphasis on HS&E compliance and site coordination is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain company brand and customer service expectations.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to achieve performance and quality targets.

  • Comply with process updates and policy procedures.
  • Attend team briefs and training when required.
  • Cover absence or weekend work when needed.
  • Maintain and submit site visit records and electronic drawings.
  • Ensure site visits for gas mains/assets with appropriate notifications to Operational Staff.
  • Record and escalate discrepancies to the Asset Data Team and Customer Operations.
  • Comply with HS&E procedures and use PPE.
  • Review Performance and Quality MI Systems feedback.
  • Ensure project packs have complete information submitted in Cadent systems.
  • Capture site photos/logs to support DR4s and related works.
  • Coordinate with Site Managers to ensure asset data is accurate.
  • Notify hazards using the H Code App.
  • Record Digitisable Services/Connections data.
  • Reference Mains Test Certificates appropriately.
  • Assist with Service Compliance Activities and CSEP Mapping.
  • Record asset errors, valve/governor cards, syphons, and related items for DCT calendars.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

The role holder will be accountable for:

  • Where necessary, maintain company brand / expectations with regards to customer service and satisfaction
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to achieve the performance and quality targets / expectations
  • Seek out coaching / development opportunities
  • Comply with the implementation of process / procedure updates in line with business developments
  • Comply with policy / local work procedures
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate in accordance with business needs
  • Attend and constructively participate in regular Team Briefs as required. Where necessary attend internal / external training
  • Support with covering absence / annual leave and where required Weekend Working.
  • Maintain business expectation in line with RE23 compliance
  • Ensuring visual on-site visits are carried out on existing and new gas mains / assets that are being worked on by the operational teams throughout the various workstreams and, working closely with Operational Staff, produce electronic drawings / span sheets of the site visit Version 1.0 December 2023
  • Responsible for ensuring records for completed works are accurately captured to the required standard and returned to the Asset Data Team within appropriate prescribed timelines
  • Ensuring site visits are carried out for existing and new gas mains / assets while pipes are exposed, ensuring Operational Staff are notified of any DR4 Requirements, Shallow Mains Deviations, Stub Ends, Valve/ Governor Cards or Deviations from Design, including any H Code findings via Ctrl HUB forms
  • Identifying and escalating any discrepancies to their Team Leader, the Asset Data Team & Customer Operations, where appropriate
  • Complying with all HS&E procedures – use the appropriate work equipment and personal protective equipment and participate proactively in achieving HS&E objectives including Process Safety & Lone Working Activities
  • Reviewing and applying analysis of Performance and Quality MI Systems Feedback e.g. Allocated Reports, Whereabouts, DCT Performance Statistics
  • Ensuring all information within project packs for each street is complete and accurate and is submitted using relevant Cadent systems
  • Where appropriate complete site photos & logs to support DR4s, shallow mains, stub lengths against REP2
  • Liaising directly with Site Managers and Cadent operational staff to ensure accurate data is captured
  • Completing H Code App to notify of any hazards
  • Recording any details for Digitisable Services / Connections, inclusive of CSEP activities
  • Ensuring Mains Test Certificates are appropriately referenced
  • Where required, support with Service Compliance Activities (Domestic / Non-Domestic), Plant Protection, DR/8 Compliance, CSEP Mapping Assistance
  • Liaising with Site Manager to advise where there is need for Records of Asset Errors (DR4/RbP and supporting information), valve cards and/or governor cards, syphons and other appropriate plant items to be recorded, DCT Calendars, Whereabouts Activities and Allocated Reports (ensuring they are included on drawings)
  • Maintaining and Managing Site Visit Logistics (Appropriate for Data Capture)
  • Ensuring the abandonment dates for each section of pipe on all project streets are correctly recorded
  • Ensuring Routine Operations (ROs) / Non-Routine Operation (NROs) are appropriately referenced for all assets laid and assets abandoned
  • Ensuring Live Insertion Works are captured accurately with co-ordination with Operations. If a Live Head is left in situ, this should be recorded using the Viewing Dome Location
  • Ensuring Pipe Protection & Cathodic Protection are referenced appropriately
  • Hold a EUSR SHEA Gas Passport
Practical Experience
  • Have experienced with Data Collector and GPS Software(s)
  • Ability to work accurately within tight deadlines and on their own initiative
