Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager in Assessment to supervise a team of 7 social workers and a CIAO, ensuring timely, high-quality services for children and families. The role sits within the Integrated Front Door framework and reports to senior service managers.

The post involves hybrid working across Wisbech or Ely, management of performance, and leading on safeguarding processes, KPI achievement, and multi-agency collaboration to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Be a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Ability to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide independently.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop practitioners, identifying strengths and areas to improve and implement plans.
• Manage the delivery of the team to ensure a high-quality service for children, young people and families within statutory guidelines.
• Plan, allocate and review cases and manage priorities.
• Lead on customer service and initial stage complaints.
• Recruit and staff the team.
• Provide expert safeguarding knowledge and apply relevant policy and case law.
• Develop and sustain internal and external relationships with other professionals and partner agencies.
