Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a Team Manager in Assessment to lead a team of seven social workers in Wisbech/Ely, with hybrid working options. You will oversee S17/S47 related activities and ensure timely, high-quality support for children and families in line with local policies.

The role requires a qualified Social Worker with England registration, supervision skills, and the ability to travel across Cambridgeshire.

Qualifications

• Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration.
• Ability to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide independently.
• Experience in leading teams and delivering safeguarding outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Supervision and development of practitioners, identifying strengths and areas to improve.
• Manage the delivery of the team to provide high quality, timely services for children and families.
• Plan, allocate and review cases and manage priorities.
• Lead on customer service and handle stage 1 complaints.
• Recruitment and staffing of the team, ensuring capacity.
• Provide expert knowledge of safeguarding processes and policy.
• Develop internal and external partnerships to sustain collaborative work.
