Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical/mechanical components including pneumatics and hydraulics.

• Pick parts and kits as required for tasks.
• Determine required service levels and undertake service.
• Assess repairs and act accordingly based on return requests.
• Acquire spare parts as needed for repairs.
• Create requests for product returns to customers or for stock.
• Liaise with NPD on product development for assembly and repairs.

Overview

My client, a leading manufacturing company based in Basingstoke, is looking to recruit an Assembly technician on a full time, temporary basis. The role will start as temporary for around 6 months with a view to become permanent after that period. Candidates must have a background within Assembly (Mechanical or Electrical) and be used to working with small scale components.

The role involves assembly, service and repair of electrical/mechanical components and sub-assemblies on a small scale. Candidates must be available to start within a week after successful interview.

Responsibilities

• Assembly electrical/mechanical components including pneumatics and hydraulics using drawings and work instructions.
• Self-inspection and testing.
• Final inspection of finished goods with a strong commitment to quality.
• Pick parts and kits required to carry out tasks.
• Determine the service level required and undertake service as per agreed schedule(s).
• Determine repairs required and undertake as per the return request.
• Acquire spare parts as required for repair technicians.
• Create requests to return product to customer, stock, service stock or for scrap.
• Liaise with NPD in the development of new products for Assembly, Service and Repairs requirements.

Experience / Qualifications

• Have assembly experience (ideally mechanical).
• Have good attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions / drawings.
• Able to use manual hand tools.
• Ability to prioritize and manage own workflow.

Hours & Compensation

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:30 and Friday 07:30 - 12:30, totaling 39 hours per week.

Hourly rate of £13.07 is on offer for the right candidate after a successful interview.
