Job summary

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are recruiting an Assembly Technician for a well-established Leeds manufacturing business. The role involves assembling large electrical and mechanical components from engineering drawings, ensuring safety, accuracy and high quality in a collaborative production environment.

This rotating shift role includes Week 1 6:00am–2:00pm and Week 2 12:30pm–10:00pm, with great work‑life balance and long back‑shift weekends.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience within assembly, mechanical fitting, or manufacturing environments.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical engineering skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble large electrical and mechanical components to specification.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, and assembly instructions.
• Safely operate overhead cranes to move and position components and assemblies.
• Carry out mechanical assembly work to high quality standards.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Support continuous improvement activities across the production department.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and efficiently.

Salary: £31,500 - £39,400 per annum

Shift pattern: Rotating Shift Pattern | Monday to Friday

Working hours - Rotating Shift Pattern

Week 1

Monday to Friday: 6:00am - 2:00pm

Week 2

Monday to Thursday: 12:30pm - 10:00pm

The Role

As an Assembly Technician, you'll play a key role in the assembly and manufacture of complex mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring products are built safely, accurately, and to the highest standards.

Working as part of a skilled production team, you'll be involved in every stage of the assembly process and contribute to the delivery of exceptional products for customers worldwide.

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years' experience within assembly, mechanical fitting, or manufacturing environments
• Experience working from engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical engineering skills
• Experience operating overhead cranes (up to 120 tonnes desirable)
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
• A proactive approach to health and safety
• A positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
