We are delighted to be working with one of the UK’s leading and fastest growing manufacturers within the commercial airline sector. We are looking for an Assembly Team Leader to support production operations and train the production teams to build and assemble products.
Main duties and responsibilities of an Assembly Team Leader
- Adhere to all production documentation, instructions, and drawings detailing the correct method of production.
- Support and train new starters on the production line to enable them to build and assemble products to the required quality standards and at the required tact times.
- Perform upskilling of production teams when requested.
- Check the quality of Assembly Operator output and ensure productivity levels remain high to meet the Production Plan.
- Be the first point of contact on the line for Assembly Operator requests for guidance on assembly or quality issues.
- Observe all batch and serial number traceability requirements, ensuring records are accurate.
- Maintain quality standards consistently.
- Complete all work in a timely manner according to schedule and priority.
- Promote good Health & Safety standards across the area and company.
- Support continuous improvement activities, including efficiency gains and waste reduction.
- Help maintain manufacturing KPI targets.
- Display professional, respectful, and positive attitude and behavior, acting as a role model.
- Use tooling safely and effectively.
- Engage in training and cross-skilling to ensure high skill levels and flexibility.
- Reduce raw material wastage through careful handling.
- Communicate effectively with support departments such as Sales, Design, and Supply Chain.
Experience/knowledge requirements for an Assembly Team Leader
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Relevant experience in a production operator role or similar factory/industrial environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Calm and methodical approach to training colleagues.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to plan and prioritize workload effectively.
