Assembly Operative

Location: Pershore
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Temporary Ongoing

Hewett Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Assembly Operative to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in the Pershore area.

This is a varied, hands-on position involving a mixture of electrical/electronic assembly, wiring and light mechanical assembly. The role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, has good attention to detail and is comfortable working across a variety of assembly tasks.

The Role

As an Assembly Operative, your duties will include:

• Final assembly of electrical and electronic systems
• Electrical panel wiring
• Cable loom assembly
• Cable wiring, crimping and hand soldering
• Light mechanical assembly and fabrication
• Basic machining tasks, including drilling cases and cutting holes in panels
• Following wiring diagrams and assembly instructions
• Carrying out electrical testing in accordance with test schedules
• Working across both higher-volume assembly and lower-volume, more detailed project work
• General workshop and production duties as required

Previous Experience

Experience in some of the following areas would be advantageous:

• Electrical or electronic assembly
• Cable wiring and cable loom assembly
• Hand soldering
• Wire crimping
• Reading wiring diagrams
• Mechanical assembly or light fabrication
• General workshop or manufacturing environments
• Switchgear, electrical control equipment or vehicle wiring

Experience across every area is not essential, and candidates with strong practical assembly skills and transferable manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply.
