Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a Trainee Teaching Assistant in Monmouthshire, South Wales. The role supports young people in a welcoming secondary setting and offers hands-on classroom experience with an ALN base.

Ideal candidates bring activity from coaching, childcare, SEN support or youth work, and a genuine passion for education. The role runs through the full academic year with structured training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Aged 18 or older.
• Experience with children, young people or related qualifications desirable.
• Backgrounds in education, youth work, support work, sports coaching, mentoring, etc.

Responsibilities

• Support students in the classroom and assist with ALN provision.
• Help pupils stay focused, confident and engaged in learning.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Provide one-to-one or small group support where needed.
• Learn and apply behaviour management strategies.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive school environment.
