Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a confident Cover Supervisor to join schools in the Southampton area. Ideal for graduates and aspiring teachers, the role offers fixed school hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, term-time only, with no lesson planning or marking.

You will supervise KS3/KS4, maintain a positive learning environment, deliver pre-set work, and support safeguarding policies. A Degree and Enhanced DBS are preferred, with opportunities to gain classroom experience on the pathway to teacher

Qualifications

• Degree level or higher education qualification.
• Experience with young people through tutoring, youth work, mentoring or volunteering.
• Confidence, communication, resilience, and a proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervise KS3 & KS4 across various subjects during teacher absences.
• Maintain a positive, orderly, and productive classroom environment where students feel supported.
• Deliver prepared work set by the department and ensure students stay on task.
• Collect completed work and provide constructive feedback on student progress and behaviour.
• Uphold school policies regarding behaviour management and safeguarding at all times.
