Remedy Education are recruiting aspirant teachers and graduates to gain valuable classroom experience in a welcoming Newham primary school for the 2026/27 academic year. The Graduate Teaching Assistant role supports pupils across KS1 and KS2, helping build confidence and classroom skills while you decide on teacher training.

You will work with class teachers to support lessons, small groups and individuals, with duties including maths, English, reading and phonics support, behaviour management

Qualifications

  • Have a degree or be due to graduate.
  • Be genuinely interested in becoming a teacher.
  • Be confident supporting pupils across primary age groups.
  • Have strong communication skills.
  • Be reliable, proactive and professional.

Responsibilities

Remedy Education are currently looking for aspirants teachers and graduates who are keen to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into teacher training.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate who is passionate about education and wants to spend the academic year working in a welcoming and diverse primary school in Newham. The role will give you hands on experience supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2, helping you build confidence, develop classroom skills and confirm whether teaching is the right career path for you.

The Graduate Teaching Assistant Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils in lessons, small groups and on a one to one basis where required. You may be supporting children with Maths, English, reading, writing, phonics, interventions, behaviour and general classroom learning.

You do not need previous school based experience, although tutoring, mentoring, youth work, childcare or SEN experience would be a strong advantage.
