Job summary

Clark Wood is assisting a respected Bristol-based professional services firm to recruit a Personal Tax Assistant Manager for their private client tax team.

You will manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including high-net-worth individuals and trusts, review returns and complex computations, and provide practical tax advice while supporting junior staff and developing client relationships. Hybrid working options are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in personal/private client tax within a professional services environment.
• Experience dealing with HNW individuals, trusts, and complex personal tax matters.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, including HNW individuals, non-domiciled clients, trusts, and family groups.
• Reviewing personal tax returns and complex tax computations.
• Acting as a primary point of contact for clients, providing clear and practical tax advice.
• Supporting advisory work across residency and domicile, inheritance tax planning, trusts, and wealth structuring.
• Handling HMRC enquiries and correspondence.
• Ensuring compliance work is delivered accurately and in line with risk procedures.
• Reviewing and supporting the work of junior team members.
• Building strong, long-term client relationships and identifying advisory opportunities.
