Qualifications

• Previous engineering experience or a basic engineering background
• An interest in mechanical and electrical maintenance
• An engineering qualification, apprenticeship or relevant practical experience would be advantageous
• A hands-on approach with a willingness to learn
• Good problem-solving skills and a positive attitude
• Reliable, motivated and keen to develop a career in maintenance engineering

Responsibilities

• Assisting with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
• Supporting the engineering team with machinery breakdowns and fault finding
• Learning to identify and resolve basic mechanical and electrical faults
• Assisting with the maintenance of conveyors, bearings, belts, chains and other production equipment
• Supporting the installation, repair and servicing of machinery
• Following all site health and safety procedures
• Working alongside experienced engineers to develop practical maintenance skills
