1 Tech Staffing Ltd is seeking a Junior Linux Systems Administrator in Daresbury to join our IT team and develop hands-on expertise in Linux infrastructure. You will work with experienced professionals to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve Linux-based systems across the IT environment.

The role focuses on server administration, scripting, and expanding skills in cloud, automation, networking, security, and DevOps, with opportunities for training and career development in a supportive team

Qualifications

• Strong interest in Linux server administration with hands-on hardware/networking experience.
• Familiarity with Ubuntu/Debian and/or RHEL-based distributions.
• Basic command line proficiency and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers.
• Monitor server performance, availability, and system health.
• Troubleshoot Linux, network, hardware, and software issues.
• Manage users, groups, permissions, and access.
• Perform system updates, patching, and routine maintenance.
• Assist with backups and recovery procedures.
• Support basic networking, DNS, SSH, and firewall configuration.
• Help maintain system documentation and operational procedures.
• Assist with automation and scripting where appropriate.
• Respond to technical issues and support requests.
