Job summary

Ex-Mil Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Junior Systems & Build Engineer to join its engineering team in the Defence tech Midlands environment. You will develop skills across Linux, infrastructure, and build technologies while supporting software products.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in systems administration, strong Linux, Bash scripting, and experience with package management. Security clearance may be required as part of the Defence context.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in systems administration or similar infrastructure role.
• Strong Linux administration skills, ideally Red Hat or similar.
• Bash scripting ability.
• Experience with yum/dnf or equivalent package management.

Responsibilities

• Support the build, deployment and delivery of software products.
• Administer and maintain Linux-based development and build infrastructure.
• Support configuration and version-control systems.
• Maintain build machines, development environments and related infrastructure.
• Respond to infrastructure and engineering support requests.
• Investigate issues and provide diagnostic support.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery activities.
• Contribute to technical documentation and training materials.
• Support research and improvements to engineering processes and ways of working.
• Contribute to technical design and wider engineering activities.
