TeacherActive is working with a well-established mainstream secondary school in Cardiff, seeking an NQT/ECT English Teacher for a long-term post with the potential for a permanent position.

The role covers teaching English across KS3 and KS4, supporting GCSE preparation, planning and delivering engaging lessons, and following the school's learning schemes. NQTs/ECTs are encouraged to apply and will benefit from ongoing CPD and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with an English specialism.
• NQTs / ECTs are encouraged to apply.
• Experience teaching English during training placements or previous roles.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Positive, adaptable and proactive approach to teaching.
• Genuine passion for supporting pupil progress and achievement.

Responsibilities

• Teach English across KS3 and KS4.
• Support GCSE English exam preparation.
• Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons.
• Follow and implement the school's schemes of learning.
• Develop effective classroom and behaviour management with support from staff.
