Job summary

Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is expanding its Emergency Department team with a Trainee Junior Nurse Practitioner role, leading to a Trainee Advanced Practitioner. The 4-year fixed term starts at band 6 (first 12–18 months) while completing non‑medical prescribing, then progresses to band 7 and finally to a substantive band 8a post upon qualification.

Qualifications

• RN with current NMC registration and relevant clinical skills.
• BSc Hons degree required and evidence of CPD.

• Deliver autonomous care in Emergency Department under supervision.
• Engage in education and training from Advanced Practitioners and medical staff.
• Support service improvements and evidence-based practice within the department.
