Job summary

Academics in Woking is seeking an Aspiring Educational Psychologist / Learning Support Assistant to support children with SEN, including ASD and SEMH, in a special school. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, planning activities with teacher guidance and helping students develop social and academic skills.

There is on-site training and CPD, and you will collaborate with therapists to broaden your practical experience.

Qualifications

• Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students.
• Able to plan learning activities to suit pupil ability with support from a teacher.
• Able to encourage the development of social skills and support students' individual needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience working with young people with special needs is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support children with SEN in a special school in Woking on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Provide academic and pastoral support and monitor student progress.
• Work closely with therapists to expand knowledge and practical experience.
