Job summary

KPI EDUCATION is seeking a Psychology graduate to join an outstanding primary school in East London as a Learning Support Assistant. This full-time, one-year fixed-term contract starts September 2026 and offers hands-on experience supporting pupils with diverse learning, behavioural, social and emotional needs.

You will work with teachers, SEND professionals and senior leaders to tailor support, deliver inclusive lessons, and implement interventions to boost academic progress and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• A Psychology degree from a recognised university.
• A First-Class Honours Degree or strong 2:1.
• Excellent GCSE results, including English, Maths and Science.
• Strong A-Level results.
• A passion for working with primary-aged children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, empathetic and professional approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with children from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils needing extra assistance.
• Supporting children with SEND, SEMH, speech and language, and learning difficulties.
• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Implementing targeted interventions to support academic progress.
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
• Supporting children's emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to support plans.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.
