Job summary

Early Years Academy is seeking a Qualified Nursery Practitioner for a nursery in Burnham, Buckinghamshire. You will provide high-quality care and early education for babies, toddlers and preschool children, following EYFS guidelines.

The successful candidate will hold a recognised childcare qualification, have experience in a nursery setting, and be committed to safeguarding. You will work as part of a supportive team and contribute to planning engaging, play-based learning activities.

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in Childcare or Early Years suitable for the position.
• Previous experience working with babies, toddlers or preschool children in a nursery or Early Years setting.
• Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection responsibilities.
• Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging learning activities.
• Caring, patient, enthusiastic and professional approach.
• Willingness to continue learning and developing professional skills.
• Experience supporting children with additional needs would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality care and early education for babies, toddlers and preschool children.
• Supporting children’s learning and development in accordance with the EYFS framework.
• Planning and delivering creative, engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences.
• Encouraging children’s independence, confidence, communication and social skills through play.
• Observing, assessing and recording children’s progress and identifying their individual learning needs.
• Supporting children with SEND, promoting an inclusive learning environment.
• Maintaining a safe, stimulating, welcoming and nurturing nursery environment.
• Building positive and professional relationships with parents and carers.
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure consistency in children’s care and education.
• Following safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies.
• Supporting children’s personal care routines, including mealtimes, hygiene and rest periods.
• Promoting positive behaviour and supporting children’s emotional wellbeing.
• Participating in staff meetings, training and professional development activities.
