About the Role

Blue Arrow is delighted to be recruiting for a Commis Chef to join a prestigious catering operation in Oxford.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious chef looking to establish a long-term career within hospitality and catering. Working alongside experienced chefs, you will receive hands-on training, develop your culinary skills, and gain exposure to high-quality food preparation in a professional kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes.
• Support senior chefs in delivering exceptional food standards and service.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene, labelling, and temperature procedures are followed at all times.
• Assist with stock management, deliveries, and the correct storage of ingredients.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
• Support hospitality events, private dining, and special functions as required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
• Contribute to menu development and help minimise food waste where appropriate.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous food preparation or basic cooking experience.
• Has a genuine passion for food and cooking.
• Is keen to learn and develop their culinary skills.
• Enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Can work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required.

Desirable

• NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery, Practical Cookery, or an equivalent qualification.
