Job summary

Environtec is seeking an apprentice Asbestos Laboratory Technician to join our Mansfield-based team. You will support daily lab operations, learn to prepare and analyze asbestos samples, and assist with reporting and record keeping under expert supervision.

The role provides hands-on training toward RSciTech and Level 3 qualifications, with a 40-hour week, 27 days leave pro‑rata, and a strong focus on health and safety in a controlled laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or over
• Not be in full-time education
• Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Apprenticeships are designed to provide new knowledge, skills and behaviours, so applicants should not already hold a Level 3, degree or higher qualification in a closely related subject, or have significant experience in the same field.

Responsibilities

• We are pleased to offer an opportunity for an Asbestos Laboratory Technician Apprentice to join the team to support day‑to‑day laboratory operations and provide technical assistance to ensure accurate sample analysis and efficient laboratory workflows.
• Assist with generating reports, certificates of analysis and maintaining accurate laboratory records.
• Gain experience using laboratory equipment and industry‑standard analytical techniques.
