Job summary

Environtec is offering an Apprenticeship: Laboratory Technician (Level 3) based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, with a full-time schedule of 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role starts September 2026 and pays £24,454 per year.

The package includes up to 27 days annual leave and structured training in a UKAS-accredited asbestos laboratory environment. You will learn sample preparation, asbestos analysis, lab data handling, and reporting while gaining recognised qualifications and career

Qualifications

• Be 18+ due to working environment.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• No prior Level 3, degree or higher in a closely related subject required.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to prepare and analyse samples to identify asbestos content in building materials.
• Support logging, handling and storage of laboratory samples and data.
• Develop understanding of laboratory quality standards, health and safety procedures and environmental compliance.
• Assist with generating reports and maintaining accurate laboratory records.
• Gain experience using laboratory equipment and industry-standard analytical techniques.
• Work with experienced analysts to develop practical laboratory skills.
• Support quality control procedures and help meet customer turnaround times.
