Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales is seeking a Band 3 Pharmacy Assistant for the Aseptic/Technical Services unit at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor. You will work under GMP guidelines and contribute to aseptic production, dispensing sterile products and supporting ward deliveries.

Successful candidates will develop through a Level 2 NVQ in Pharmacy Services and may progress to SMT Level 3; you will join a team committed to safety, quality, and continuous learning, with Welsh language

Qualifications

GCSEs in Maths and English Language required.
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Technical Services or willingness to complete within 12 months.

Responsibilities

Assembly of aseptic products in preparation for aseptic dispensing (chemotherapy and intravenous medicines).
Decontamination and transfer of medication and associated consumables into the clean rooms.
Perform in-process volume checks as required.
Aseptically dispense sterile cytotoxic products and other sterile injectables.
Carry out environmental and physical monitoring of the aseptic unit.
Deliver medications to wards.
Replenishment and maintenance of stock levels of medicines and consumables.
Supply internal orders using the pharmacy dispensing system.
Receipt and return of clean room clothing.
Answering telephone and dealing with simple queries.
Cleaning and decontamination of isolators and associated clean rooms.
