Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is recruiting a Pharmacy Support Worker to join our aseptic team at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. This permanent full‑time post (36 hours) involves preparing injectable medicines, supporting aseptic dispensing, and maintaining strict environmental monitoring.

You will work as part of a 36‑strong team, with a focus on safety, quality, and patient care, on a 5 days over 7 rota including weekends. PVG check may be required.

Qualifications

• General Education, numeracy and literacy as evidenced by 3 Standard Grade Qualifications including English and Maths.
• SVQ Pharmacy Level 2 not essential but ready to work towards it.
• Good communication and ability to work in a team are essential.

Responsibilities

• Setting up materials for aseptic preparation and patient treatments.
• Assisting with aseptic dispensing of specialised injectable products.
• Performing routine monitoring of cleanroom conditions and recording data.
• Managing stock control and inventory rotation.
• Answering hatch requests from wards for product handover.
