Job summary

Remedy Education are looking for a patient and enthusiastic ASD Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school based in Plumstead. This role is ideal for someone who has experience supporting pupils with autism, communication needs or additional learning needs.

You will work 1:1 and with small groups to help pupils access activities, follow routines and build confidence. A calm, nurturing approach and good behaviour management are essential, with an Enhanced DBS preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with autism or SEN in a school setting.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Ability to support learning, routines and behaviour.
• Willingness to get involved and work with staff.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism and additional needs throughout the school day.
• 1:1 and small group work to promote engagement and progress.
• Help pupils access activities and follow routines.
• Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Assist teachers with adapted resources and tasks.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Provide a calm, nurturing approach.
• Work with teachers, SENCOs and support staff.
