Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking a patient, experienced ASD Teaching Assistant to join a partner mainstream primary school in the Kenilworth area. This 1:1 role supports KS2 pupils with ASD, PDA and ADHD, collaborating with teachers, SENCO and SEND team to tailor learning and behaviour plans.

The position is long-term with potential to become permanent. Hours are 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only). Start ASAP with experience in UK primary settings and delivering targeted interventions.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN (ASD, PDA, ADHD).
• UK primary school experience, KS2 curriculum knowledge.
• Ability to provide 1:1 support and adapt approach to pupil needs.
• Strong behaviour management and supportive classroom environment.
• Experience delivering targeted interventions and monitoring progress towards EHCP targets.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to KS2 pupils with additional needs.
• Work closely with class teacher, SENCO and support team to enable learning.
• Support pupils to access learning, manage emotions and develop independence.
• Deliver targeted interventions in 1:1 and small-group settings.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback toward EHCP targets.

Long Term Futures are seeking a patient, compassionate and experienced ASD Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner mainstream primary schools in the Kenilworth area.

This is a 1:1 support role working with pupils across Key Stage 2 who have a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and ADHD. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to provide consistent, individualised support, helping pupils access learning, manage their emotions and develop greater independence.

The role is offered on a long-term basis, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

• - Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (term time only)

• - Experience: Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD, PDA and ADHD.
• - School Experience: Experience working within a UK primary school and a good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• - 1:1 Support: Confidence providing individual support and adapting your approach to meet each pupil's needs.
• - Interventions: Experience delivering targeted interventions on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• - Behaviour Support: Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to provide a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment.
• - Progress Monitoring: Confidence monitoring pupil progress, providing feedback and working towards individual learning and EHCP targets.
• - Ofsted-rated 'Good' mainstream primary school.
• - Two-form entry primary school in the Kenilworth area.
• - Supportive SENCO, teaching staff and wider SEND team.
• - Strong focus on inclusion and providing tailored support for pupils with additional needs.
