Hays Education has recently seen an increased need for local ASD Specialist Teaching Assistants in SEN Schools across Northamptonshire for day-to-day and long-term supply.
Here at Hays, we work with a number of schools across Northamptonshire, covering areas such as Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden, Daventry, Towcester, Brackley, and surrounding areas. Working through Hays, you will have local work in your preferred area, focusing only on schools you choose.
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a SEN Secondary School in Wellingborough for students aged 11-18 with cognition and learning needs/ASD. The school has approximately 150 students and is rated 'outstanding' by OFSTED. They are passionate about supporting students to achieve their full potential and provide enrichment opportunities outside of school to prepare students for their next steps after leaving school.
Your new role
We are looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join the team ASAP on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a term-time-only role. We seek exceptional individuals to work with exceptional pupils who have a range of additional needs, supporting their education.
Candidates should thrive in challenging but rewarding environments, be passionate about developing social, life, and independence skills, and genuinely want to make a difference in young people's lives.
The successful candidate will positively impact children with diverse care needs, life experiences, and personalities, making each day varied and engaging. Building trusting relationships and motivating students through individual attention, reassurance, and support with daily tasks is essential.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults with PMLD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, or Autism Spectrum Conditions. This experience is essential.
