Specialist ASC Teaching Assistants – Pontefract & Surrounding Areas
Are you experienced in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)? We’re looking for dedicated individuals to work in specialist provisions and mainstream schools across Pontefract, Castleford, Featherstone, and Knottingley. If you have a passion for helping children with ASC thrive, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
Provide tailored support to children with ASC, helping them navigate the school environment.
Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to create structured, engaging learning experiences.
Assist with communication, sensory needs, and emotional regulation.
Build strong relationships to support students in their social and academic development.
Experience supporting children with ASC (education or care settings).
Knowledge of strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or sensory integration.
Patience, adaptability, and a positive approach.
Relevant training (e.g., Autism Awareness, Team Teach) is beneficial but not essential.
Having access to transport is preferred, as this will broaden the range of opportunities available to you.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
