Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Portsmouth is seeking a dedicated SEND Autism Spectrum Condition (ASc) Secondary TA to support pupils with ASC in a UK secondary school. Start date ASAP and a long-term, full-time placement.

Experience in SEN, autism support or secondary education is welcome. Right to work in the UK, enhanced DBS checks, and two references are required; safeguarding training is desirable and training can be provided.

• Teaching Assistant qualification (preferable but not essential).
• Previous experience in a UK school.
• Experience with children in education or similar setting.

A secondary school in Portsmouth is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. We welcome applications from experienced Teaching Assistants and those with a background in SEN, autism support, or secondary education.

The Role

Location: Portsmouth
Position: SEND Autism Spectrum Condition (ASc) Secondary TA
Start date: ASAP
Duration / Likely Duration: Ongoing
Contract type: Long term
Full time/part time: Full time
Minimum rate of pay: £140 per day
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Experience and Training

• Teaching Assistant qualification (preferable but not essential)
• Previous experience working in a UK School
• Experience working with children in education or in a similar setting
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as training can be provided)

To Be Eligible, You Must

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional, child-related references
• The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy.
