Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Asbestos Surveyor to support asbestos management on a large industrial site in the United Kingdom. The role involves surveys, database management, bulk sampling and advising on regulatory compliance to operational teams and contractors.

You will work with senior leadership to shape asbestos management strategies and contribute to site health and safety initiatives, including staff training to ensure ongoing competency.

Qualifications

• BOHS P402 qualification or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence.

• Experience in industrial/manufacturing environments is advantageous.

Job description

An established industrial organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Asbestos Surveyor to support asbestos management and compliance across a large operational site.

This is a key role within the health and safety function, responsible for managing the site asbestos database, undertaking surveys and bulk sampling, and providing expert advice to operational teams and contractors.

The Role

As Asbestos Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting asbestos management, refurbishment and demolition surveys and producing detailed technical reports.


• Managing and maintaining the asbestos database, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.


• Carrying out bulk asbestos sampling and liaising with a UKAS asbestos analysis laboratory.


• Advising operational areas on asbestos management and regulatory compliance.


• Working with contractors and external service providers to ensure compliance with current legislation.


• Supporting senior leaders and stakeholders with asbestos management strategies.


• Assisting with health and safety audits and contributing to site safety initiatives.


• Providing training to plant personnel to maintain competency and compliance.

About You

To be considered for the Asbestos Surveyor position, you will need:

• BOHS P402 qualification or equivalent.


• A full UK driving licence.


• Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.


• Good computer literacy and the ability to learn new IT systems.


• The ability to make informed decisions and communicate effectively with key stakeholders.


• Experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous.
