Job summary

AWE plc in Aldermaston, Berkshire, is seeking an Asbestos Management Practitioner to support safe, compliant asbestos information management within the Radiochemistry Group. The role emphasizes surveys, data upkeep, and regulatory compliance, with strong career development potential and full onsite work.

Qualifications

Knowledge of current asbestos legislation and standards.
BOHS P402 and/or P405 or RSPH Level 3 certification or equivalent.
Experience with surveys, inspections, or compliance systems is beneficial.
Strong attention to detail and record-keeping.
Good written and verbal communication.
Experience in highly regulated environments.
Experience maintaining an Asbestos Management Plan.

Responsibilities

Carry out asbestos surveys by inspecting buildings, taking samples, and assessing risk.
Update inspection data and maintain the Asbestos Data Management System.
Support CAR Reg 4 compliance and update risk scores.
Maintain a register of ACMs and update management plans.
Schedule routine ACM inspections, typically every 12 months.
Ensure trainees complete required training.
Work in line with health and safety legislation and AWE standards.
Progress toward becoming a fully trained asbestos analyst.
