Job summary

Somerset Council’s Octagon Theatre & Westlands Arts Engagement & Outreach team invites you to start a career in the arts as an Arts Engagement & Outreach Apprentice. You’ll help plan, promote and deliver creative projects, workshops, performances and events that engage communities across Somerset.

This 18‑month apprenticeship combines structured learning with hands‑on experience, and you’ll gain a Level 3 Cultural Learning and Participation Apprenticeship with Creative Alliance.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above.
• Strong communication and ability to work with diverse groups.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Confidence using IT systems and digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Help deliver creative projects, events and activities across Somerset.
• Support promotion of programmes via social media and newsletters.
• Build relationships with schools, community groups, artists and partners.
• Assist with administration, bookings, data management and feedback.
• Contribute ideas to engage more people in the arts.
