Job summary

Birchwood Community High School is seeking an enthusiastic Arts & DT Technician to support staff and learners. You will prepare rooms, equipment and materials to ensure high-quality Design & Technology and Art lessons run safely and smoothly.

The role is full‑time, term‑time only plus inset days, permanent, with a salary in the £22,356–£22,712 range, and a commitment to safeguarding pupils. Apply through the school by the stated closing date.

Qualifications

• Experience as a DT/Arts Technician
• Ability to work effectively within a team with initiative
• Experience of working with young people
• Clear communication with all school community members
• Strong ICT knowledge
• Motivation to develop the department to meet faculty needs
• Willingness to contribute to the wider school life including duties/extracurriculars

Responsibilities

• Prepare rooms, equipment, materials and learner resources so lessons run safely, efficiently and effectively.
• Support school leaders and teaching staff in delivering high-quality DT and ART provision.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of practical activities and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Contribute to wider faculty and school life through duties and extracurricular activities.
